Dicks for everyone! In all seriousness, though, I am pretty surprised by what happened to you at school. It really looked like society was progressing beyond persecution of homosexuals, both direct and indirect. What happened to you is a good indication that we haven't really moved that far as a whole. Sure, it's not done out in the open as much anymore, but it's still there. So is racism, though, so I guess ignorance will always prevail wherever it can take root. It's sad as hell, but there will always be bigots and assholes out there. I just hope you and your friend make at least a little progress with this in your school, your town. If everyone were to do something similar, the world would be a much more understanding and easy-going place.
